I grew up near Chicago, and moved all over the country before finally arriving home – when me and my family moved to Wilmington, NC in 2013.  I earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from San Diego State University, and a Master of Science in environmental sciences and policy from The Johns Hopkins University. I  work for Cape Fear River Watch in a contracted position, and serve that organization as a member of the Board of Directors and as its Advocacy Committee Chair. I am the volunteer Offshore Oil Coordinator for the Cape Fear Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation and a founding member of the citizen’s action group, Clean Cape Fear, which formed to respond to water contamination in our region. I live near the water and have two awe-inspiring daughters. I’m also a big fan of yoga and scuba.
